Do I need to be a server guru?
Not at all! Even if you have never managed a server before, we can help you.
Our range of management plans allows a complete novice to take advantage of the cloud.
Of course, if you do know how to manage a server, you will have no problem.
Can I host more than one web site?
Absolutely! We do not set any limits on the number of sites you can host. You will need to ensure that you give your server enough of a processor, memory and disk space to handle the demand. If you are not sure how much to allocate, contact us today.
Can I install Windows?
Yes, iLoka can provide Server 2003 or 2008 SP2 Operating Systems.
Do I get root access?
Yes – unless you take a fully managed server, (we administer everything for you), no root access is provided as a security precaution.
How is my data backed up?
For an additional fee, every file you upload to your cloud server is 1:1 mirrored elsewhere in the cloud. Should hardware fail, your data will remain available. We are also able to provide snapshot backups of your entire server for a nominal cost. If installed, a control panel can also be configured to automatically schedule daily, weekly and monthly backups of your data within your available space.
How many IPs do I get?
As IP address’ are a scarce resource, each server is supplied with 5 IP’s. If you have a legitimate requirement for more, you may purchase more on request.
How much bandwidth is included?
All of our plans vary. Our clouds start with 1TB of bandwidth which can be increased to 32 TB and beyond. Speak to one of our Sales Engineers to help you determine the bandwidth to meet your business needs.
What happens if hardware fails?
For Virtual Servers our Cloud has a completely self-healing architecture. This means that if any hardware node should fail, any cloud servers running resources on that node will be re-provisioned to alternative hardware. This happens without the need for any human intervention.
We are able to engineer solutions for instantaneous failover for customers with specific availability requirements. Get in touch with our Sales Engineers and we can discuss the options available.
What’s the minimum contract?
We require a one year contract, minimum. We can add to your existing agreement to scale up as needed.
Will it function like a regular Linux or Windows box?
Yes! It will function like any other dedicated server, with much more flexibility and high built-in availability.
What if we need assistance on the weekend or in the middle of the night?
iLOKA’s team of technical engineers are on call 24/7. This round the clock service is available for Managed Services Customers only. Non-managed customers receive our standard 7am-6pm Monday- Friday Mountain Standard Time.
